HISTORY
Playing soccer (football) center midfielder is a very physically
demanding position. This is where my interest in fitness as a science
began. I was working so hard but not smart so I developed my own
training routine to improve my performance.
I loved to play football and enjoyed pushing myself but with college,
work and playing, my own fitness routine was difficult to follow
so I began to look at how fitness needs to fit into peoples “real
lives” and actually achieve their “real goals”.
Drawing from my sports psychology from university I worked closely
with fellow trainers, clients and made use of the current academic
work as well as using the health club data to look at patterns of
client behavior.
FITNESS PHILOSOPHY
I concluded that clients that were successful in meeting their goals
when they stuck closer to their routine, had set objectives, recorded
progress, but were also in a vast minority. With more detailed analysis
of these clients I found that they were enjoying their workouts,
often had training partners and had both short and long-term goals.
What works is an individual plan that is flexible and makes
use of off day work that you can safely perform and record using
your downloadable profile including your training and nutrition
logs. For example a client that trains twice a week with me doing
strength work does 3 sessions on their own for cardio and they record
that in their log.
By educating my clients and offering additional support such as
e-mailing me your work whilst on vacation or away with work, I can
help you achieve better results that will get you quicker and sustainable
results.
